The Sea Otter Classic near Monterey, California is the biggest bike show in North America and where some 300 plus brands show off their newest bike tech and gear to the cycling world every year.

This week, Si Richardson headed out there in search of the hottest bike tech – here’s what he found…

New Vision SC45 and SC60 wheels

Vision’s SC line of wheels have just received a huge update thanks to some trickle-down technology from its more premium sibling the Metron. The new SC45 and SC60 now share the same aerodynamic profile as the Metron line and the construction of the entire wheel system has been refined for greater stability and performance longevity.

Vision Metron 5D ACR Evo handlebars

These are a modified version of Vision’s widely used Metron 5D ACR series bars which are ideal for integrated cable routing. In this update, Vision has made modifications to the pathway of the internal routing which has shaved 60g off the original weight. They’ve also changed the ergonomics for two different lengths depending on your hand reach.

Sava Dream Maker aero road bike

This was one of the more eye-catching bikes we spotted on the exhibition stands this year. German bike brand Sava showcased its new Dream Maker with striking integrated forks and bars designed specifically to increase the aerodynamics of the bike.

Redshift Top Shelf handlebars

Famous for suspension stem and seatposts, this riser drop handlebar is designed primarily for comfort. It allows you to go up by 50mm or 70mm and even has a more secure area for attaching a bar bag which we think is pretty neat.

New POC Procen Air helmet

This is one that’s already pretty familiar after its early season race debut for the professional EF Education teams. Well now it’s been officially released and is proving super fast in the world of pro cycling. You can’t argue with the results, whatever your opinion of the look.

Prologo Nago R4 PAS 3D-printed Saddle and Onetouch 3D handlebar tape

Prologo’s first 3D-printed saddle has claims of being the lightest 3D-printed saddle on the market weighing just 149g. It was also displaying its funky looking 3D-printed bar tape which features slightly raised tubes in a diamond-like configuration that aid grip and also offer a bit of shock absorption. While Si was checking out the stand he also got a peak at Tom Pidcock’s new saddle.

Wolf Tooth 1x Aero chainring and headset

Already offering an impressive range of chainrings, US-based company Wolf Tooth have added another to the offering with a 1x Aero chainring with 8-bolt fitting for SRAM.

New Rab cycle clothing range

Legendary British outdoor clothing company Rab was showing off its new range of technical cycling clothing with a wind veil vest, a super lightweight casual riding top and a technical track jersey.

Sage titanium bikes

Sage has been selling its titanium bikes for around 12 years now and had an updated version of its gravel bike with 3D-printed titanium dropouts and chainstay yoke on its stand. And check out the sweet paintwork, which is not actually paint at all – it’s Cerakote, a ceramic-based powder coat that bonds with the titanium of the frame.
