Despite stepping off the bike in 2014 after five years in the pro ranks, Giorgio is still heavily involved with teams and riders at the top of the sport. Born and bred in Lake Como, the Italian sprinter worked as a sports director for Cofidis and Tirol in the past before switching his attention to the Italian national team, where he’s been involved in their Olympic programme and helping to train the country’s next generation of sports directors. Giorgio enjoys four-wheeled fun just as much as cycling too, with a keen passion for engines and his own 700-horsepower Audi RS6. He also told us that he builds liquid-cooled computers and pushes them to the limit of overclocking, whatever that means!
